Janice Man Is Edison Chen's New Girlfriend

Apparently it is the latest trend for Hong Kong artists to share their videos on a new application called "Viddy", and it was reported that playboy Edison Chen has been building a relationship with another young actress, Janice Man through that video application. 









Recently, a Hong Kong gossip magazine uncovered Edison Chen's intention of making friends with girls via the video sharing application on "Viddy" and he was able to get cosy with "Turning Point 2: Laughing Gor Returns" actress, Janice Man, who claimed herself as a new fan of "Viddy" in her recent Weibo post.


Last October, intimate pictures of Chen and an underage model, Cammi Tse were found on the internet. The 16-year-old model said that she had sexual relationship with the "Initial D" actor, but no action was taken regarding the matter.


In 2008, Chen was involved in an infamous sex scandal as photos of him and his former girlfriends including Hong Kong female stars like Gillian Chung , Bobo Chan, Mandy Chen, Vincy Yeung and Cecilia Cheung were widely circulated on the Internet.


Chen is apparently also the infamous cause of breakup between Hong Kong power couple Cecilia Cheung and Nicholas Tse .

Edison Koon-Hei Chen (born 7 October 1980) is a Hong Kong film actor, Cantopop singer, Hong Kong hip hop rapper, model, record producer, fashion designer, and a pop icon. Chen is also the founder of CLOT Inc., and the CEO of Clot Media Division Limited. His native language is English, he is able to speak and sing Cantonese and Mandarin and also speaks conversational Japanese, which allows him to be a part of multiple entertainment industries around the world. On 21 February 2008 he publicly announced that he intended to step away "indefinitely" from the Hong Kong entertainment industry due to the sex photo scandal in 2008. However, he returned to the industry in 2010 and he stated "indefinitely" could mean 5 minutes or 2000 years.

Early life

Chen was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada to parents (father is businessman Edward Chen) of Chinese and 1/8 Portuguese descent.[5] He was a student at R.C. Palmer Secondary School in Richmond, British Columbia and also attended Hong Kong International School. He was in the same tenth grade class as fellow actor Nicholas Tse.

2008 Photo scandal

In January 2008, Chen was involved in a widely publicized sex scandal when sexually explicit nude photographs of himself taken four years earlier became widely circulated on the Internet. Celebrities implicated in the scandal included Gillian Chung, Bobo Chan, Mandy Chen, Candice Chan, Rachel Ng and Cecilia Cheung. Nude photos of Edison's current girlfriend, Vincy Yeung, were also made public and the future of their relationship was the subject of intense media gossip.


Hong Kong police have stated that they confiscated a collection of sex-related photos that involve 6 other identifiable females and other unidentifiable males.


Initially the authenticity of the photos was denied, and digital manipulation was used as the primary explanation for the pictures. However, Hong Kong police and Photoshop experts argued that the photos were in fact real and not digitally altered. This brought about a serious reaction towards all parties involved in the scandal. As a result, Chen indirectly admitted his role and expressed remorse and subsequently announced his indefinite departure from the Hong Kong entertainment industry at a press conference.


Due to the scandal, the Google search engine rankings for 2008 resulted in Chen's Chinese name being the number 1 search term in China, and number 3 in Taiwan. Chen was runner-up to US president-elect Barack Obama in the Hong Kong Person of 2008 poll by government-run RTHK radio, with just under 30 percent of votes in the Person of the Year. On June 1, 2009, Chen spoke openly about the sex photo scandal for the first time since the scandal broke in an interview with TalkAsia on CNN. In the interview he reveals his side of the scandal and how he endured criticisms from the public, the media, and from the individuals affected by the case.

Edison Chen Apologizes for Recent Photo Scandal

During an appearance at MTV China's 2011 Style Awards held at the Beijing National Stadium, the 31-year-old star explained what happened.

"Seven months ago, I broke up with my girlfriend Vincy Yeung and I was actually unhappy, very lost, so I found the wrong outlet to make myself happy. This time, I did wrong; I was too stupid and put my trust in the wrong people." Chen said.

While Chen undeniably stole the show with his apology, the Style Awards are actually a big annual event, attracting celebrities from the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

This year, Jay Chou , Sun Nan , Rene Liu and Li Yuchun have been named Singer Style Icon of the Year.

Hong Kong singer-actor Edison Chen has a reputation for being quite the player, but was his most recent ex-girlfriend, 16-year-old model Cammi Tse, also one?

Some Hong Kong tabloids claim that is the case, citing photographs of Tse with three other male celebrities - all taken over the course of a year - as proof that she is no shrinking violet and may have used Chen as a tool to create publicity for herself.

Indeed, she has become the talk of the town after intimate photographs of her and Chen surfaced recently.

However, Tse spoke out on Saturday over her micro blog against these reports.

"I am sorry, just take it as I don't know the ways of the world. I am really really tired ...

"After reading the comments on my micro blog, I think you all don't understand me," said Tse.

"I read these critical comments and I think you all may have read some false reports. How could my character be portrayed as being so terrifying?

"Some reports even made me hate myself after reading them!"

"Why make me out to be like that? I think I really can't accept this ..." said Tse.

Back to school

The young model had taken a break from school and has been staying at home since last week, for fear of being hounded by the media.

But when Tse finally left her home to meet her friends on Sunday, she found reporters waiting for her.

She told Hong Kong media that she had been feeling very moody after she read the negative reports about herself, and was worried about how people would see her.

Tse decided to go out after her friends advised her to get some air, and gauge public reaction toward her along the way.

She managed to travel largely unnoticed through the streets, though some people did give her the once over.

Tse went on to reveal that she will return to school, but clammed up when questioned about Chen, as well as her relationships with the three other male stars she took photos with - Alex Shen, Vincent Wong and Jing Boran .

"I am sorry. Whatever you ask, I will not answer," she said.

Edison Chen Throws Out Reporter over Question of Cecilia Cheung

Edison Chen commanded his security officers to remove a reporter from his media conference in Shanghai on Friday, after the reporter's question made him bristle, said Chinese media.

Chen's former lover Cecilia Cheung , who is currently embroiled in a marital dispute with husband Nicholas Tse , was also in Shanghai for a fashion event on Friday.

When a reporter asked Chen if he plans to meet his old flame while she was in Shanghai, Chen became upset.

"Get out of the room!" Chen at the reporter, before motioning to a security officer to take him away.

Chen began to smile again after the reporter was escorted from the venue by a security officer and the media conference ended without further incident.

The ejected reporter, who only wished to be known as Luo, complained that Chen's behaviour was unacceptable.

"I feel celebrities can choose not to answer the questions posed to them, but he had no reason to throw me out. He was rude and had no respect for the media," said Luo.

Chen appears to have taken a leaf out of Cheung's book.

Cheung had confronted reporters who had been stalking her on two separate occasions in recent months.

Edison Chen Has HIV/AIDS?

Hong Kong's entertainment circle seems to be exploding with gossip and rumours over the past month, fuelled mostly by celebrity couple Cecilia Cheung and Nicholas Tse 's failed marriage. And now, word has it that actor Edison Chen has been infected with HIV/AIDS.

After Hong Kong tabloids speculated in early June that the playboy star had contracted the disease, many actresses were said to have panicked and hurried to the hospital for check-ups.

What's even more scandalous is that the tabloids are saying that this was the main reason behind Cheung and Tse's impending divorce.

However, there is no credible evidence as to whether Chen had really contracted AIDS but it has been reported that his broker, Gougou, said he would not respond to gossips.

Chen, of course, has not said anything and is reported to be attending the Taipei International Toy Exhibition next month.

Back in 2008 when Chen's sex photo scandal caused public furore and tarnished many names, a chart was drawn to indicate the many women and partners who would be affected if he did have AIDS.

Not only would his immediate sex partners be affected, the chart also branched out to other stars who might have been sexually involved with Chen's direct sex partners or were rumoured to be an item with those named.

Stars such as Elva Hsiao, Maggie Q, Shawn Yue , Jay Chou , and even Jackie Chan 's son are listed in the chart.

Although the chart illustrated names who are only rumoured to be involved with one another, the extent to which the chart branched out illustrates the serious implications if Chen did contract AIDS.

In April, the Hong Kong media reported that a TVB actor, known as "Mr Y", allegedly contracted HIV. The veteran artiste, who is bisexual, was involved in some box office movies and is also a singer who expanded his career to China in recent years.

Other male actors claimed that they were sexually harassed by Mr Y. Among the alleged victims are TVB actors Vincent Wong, Benjamin Yuen and William Chak.

Despite coming forward with their allegations, they did not disclose the identity of the actor.

Cantopop singer Aaron Kwok also fell victim to rumours in October last year, when the Hong Kong media reported that he allegedly spread a sexually transmitted disease to girlfriend Lynn Hung .

After much speculation, the rumour seemed to be merely an Internet prank - Hong Kong dailies reported that an unknown person had started the talk via social networking sites.
